Climbing Africa's highest peak and then driving through Africa's greatest wildlife landscape — few trip combinations in the world deliver this level of adventure, contrast, and pure experience. The Kilimanjaro and safari combination is KILIPARK's most popular itinerary, and it is easy to understand why. Two weeks in Tanzania can include a 7-day Kilimanjaro trek, a 5-day northern circuit safari, and even a Zanzibar beach extension — all operating seamlessly from our Moshi base.
Logistically, it makes perfect sense. Both experiences depart from or pass through Moshi and Arusha in northern Tanzania — combining them adds no significant extra travel time or cost compared to booking them as separate trips. Experientially, the contrast is what makes the combination extraordinary. The raw physical challenge of the summit gives way to the peaceful, spectacular luxury of a game drive in a way that makes each experience richer for the other.
KILIPARK strongly recommends doing the Kilimanjaro trek first and the safari second. After 6 to 7 days on the mountain you will want gentle vehicle travel, abundant food, and the soft pleasure of watching wildlife in peace — the safari becomes an ideal recovery and reward. Doing the safari first and then attempting the summit with tired legs is a less optimal experience. Zanzibar makes the perfect final chapter — beach, warmth, and total relaxation after both adventures.
Days 1 to 2: Arrive Moshi, acclimatization and preparation. Days 3 to 9: Machame Route Kilimanjaro trek (7 days). Day 10: Rest and recovery in Moshi. Days 11 to 14: Northern circuit safari — Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti. Optional Days 15 to 18: Zanzibar beach extension. This itinerary is KILIPARK's flagship combination package and can be customized for any group size or budget.
A 14-day Kilimanjaro and safari combination with KILIPARK starts from approximately $3,500 per person, including all park fees, accommodation, guides, meals on the mountain, and safari vehicle. The Zanzibar extension adds from $600 per person depending on accommodation tier. Contact KILIPARK for a detailed quote for your specific dates and group size.
